Selangor Journal: Selangor Indian entrepreneurship programme to attract 2,000 participants

SHAH ALAM, July 12 — The Selangor State Indian Entrepreneur Development Programme (SITHAM), which is aimed at raising the standard of living among the Indian community, is expected to attract 2,000 participants this year.

State housing, urban wellbeing and entrepreneur development executive councillor Rodziah Ismail said the programme, implemented by the Selangor Hijrah Foundation and Selangor Economic Planning Unit, is open for applications from today until August 12.

“We have allocated RM1 million to implement programmes planned for SITHAM, such as entrepreneur development training, skills and manufacturing courses, and business guidance programmes.

“I congratulate the Hijrah Foundation for providing a special microcredit programme for Indians, as this will ensure the welfare and entrepreneurship factors for Indians are better managed,” she said at the virtual launch of SITHAM 2021 today.

Rodziah said since September 2019, a total of 1,000 SITHAM participants have benefited from the various programmes implemented.
