Selangor Journal: RS-1 - Four strategic themes determine efficiency of Selangor development projects — MB
SHAH ALAM, Aug 2 — The four strategic themes under the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) are crucial to ensure the effectiveness of state development projects in the next five years, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said the inaugural plan places governance as a framework by including the draft period and the implementation chain.
“In pages 198 to 205 of the RS-1 book, the draft period and chain of implementation process, from policy making on the Selangor Economic Action Council level to the committee headed by the State Secretary and to the sectors, have been completed.
“The economy will be managed by the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), social will be led by the State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN), environmental sustainability will be managed by the UPEN director, while governance is managed by the State Secretary’s management department,” Amirudin said.
He was speaking during RS-1’s winding-up session, which was supported by the state assemblymen and Speaker Ng Suee Lim, at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly session earlier today.
The plan, tabled by the Menteri Besar on July 27, takes into account the implementation aspects of the comprehensive policies, projects and initiatives between the state and the Federal governments.
RS-1’s development has four strategic themes, namely strengthening the economy, ensuring social inclusivity and the people’s wellbeing, driving environmental sustainability, and providing good and effective governance.
