Selangor Journal: RM255,000 aid for 17 tour associations to revive industry

SHAH ALAM, Sept 9 — The state government channelled a one-off cash aid incentive totalling RM255,000 to 17 tourism associations in Selangor today.

State executive councillor for tourism Hee Loy Sian said each association received RM15,000 as an incentive to revive the tourism industry in Selangor.

“Hopefully, this incentive will help and provide an opportunity for tourism associations to continue to provide support to their members,” he said.

Hee said this at the virtual handing over ceremony to the associations’ representative that was broadcast live on Tourism Selangor’s Facebook today.

He hoped the assistance will help ensure the continuity of the industry and further support the state’s ‘Pusing Selangor Dulu’ domestic tourism campaign.

On June 9, Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced an allocation of RM2.55 million through the Kita Selangor Package 2.0 to help the tourism industry with its survival.

It includes RM1 million for financial assistance grants, RM1 million for Selangor tourism voucher 2.0, RM300,000 for digitalisation learning and training programme, and RM255,000 for one-off cash aid incentive to 17 tourism associations.
