Selangor Journal: No promotion of tourism activities during CMCO, public advised to restrict movement

DENGKIL, March 21 — Selangor has yet to actively promote tourism activities due to the enforced conditional movement control order (CMCO) in the state.

State executive councillor for tourism Hee Loy Sian had advised the public to restrict their movement during the CMCO period and to remain at home if there are no urgent matters.

“However, we do not restrict their movement if they want to go out. But it is not a suitable time for us to promote tourism activities during this (CMCO) period as the number of (Covid-19) cases is still high.

“Therefore, the public should continue compliance with the standard operating procedure and avoid going to crowded places,” said Hee after the handing over ceremony of food baskets to the Orang Asli community at the Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Tampoi, here today.

Hee added that the promotion of tourism activities will commence once the state is enforced under the recovery movement control order (RMCO) where the ‘Nak Bercuti? Pusing Selangor Dulu!’ campaign will be restarted to encourage the people to travel in the state.

On March 16, the government had announced the extension of the CMCO in Selangor until March 31.
