Selangor Journal: Another 7,000 oximeters to be provided to Selangor CACs

SHAH ALAM, July 15 — The state government has procured an additional 7,000 oximeters to be distributed to all Covid-19 assessment centres (CAC) throughout the state, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the state government has collaborated with the Selangor State Health Department (JKNS) to procure the oximeter, which is used to help determine blood oxygen levels of Covid-19 patients.

“We expect that the additional 7,000 oximeters will arrive this week and we will provide the tool to all CACs in the state especially at major centres due to the high number of people there.

“Health workers at the centres will assess the patient’s condition and if they are deemed fit to undergo home quarantine, they will be given the home assessment tool (HAT) kit, which includes the oximeter.

“Those who have received the oximeter are required to return it when they come to the CAC again to cut the quarantine wristband so that the tool can be used by other patients as well,” he said during a live talk show with Astro Awani, last night.

On June 9, the state government had allocated a total of RM1.25 million to provide HAT kits for Covid-19 patients undergoing home quarantine under the Kita Selangor 2.0 package.

Each kit is estimated to cost RM200 and comes with N95 face masks, a thermometer, an oximeter, a saliva test kit and medicines.
