Selangor Journal: All Klang Hospital staff will undergo screening - MB

SHAH ALAM, Dec 21 — All of Klang’s Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) staff will undergo Covid-19 screening as they are considered to be at high risk of contracting the virus.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin said the move, as well as the mechanism of implementation, will be discussed with the Selangor State Health Department (JKNS).

“Within the next one or two days, we will assess the follow-ups for the staff of HTAR and implement it soon.

“The state government will assist and JKNS may not object to the move as all HTAR staff are at a high risk (of contracting the virus),” Amirudin said when met today.

Earlier, the Menteri Besar had attended the contribution presentation ceremony for Selangor state-level Christmas 2020 celebration.

Meanwhile, Amirudin said that the National Security Council (NSC) had reached out to the Selangor government to discuss the latest Covid-19 situation in the state.

“I will propose a few suggestions and also hear their follow-up views in curbing the spread of the virus.

“However, any move such as the implementation of the EMCO (enhanced movement control order) or the MCO (movement control order) will be decided by the NSC,” he said.

Yesterday, the JKNS director Datuk Dr Sha’ari Ngadiman announced that a total of 143 positive Covid-19 cases were recorded at HTAR involving 62 medical personnel and 81 patients.
