National Planning Congress (NPC) & MyCITY Expo 2025
Today, I had the honour of delivering a High-Level Keynote Speech and joining a Dialogue Session themed “Empowering Selangor’s Urban Future: Harnessing AI for Inclusive, Smart, and Sustainable Development” at the National Planning Congress 2025 and MyCity Expo, held in conjunction with World Town Planning Day in Putrajaya.
Malaysia is urbanising rapidly and Selangor stands at the heart of this transformation. As more people move into our cities, we must plan holistically and leverage technology to ensure that development remains inclusive, liveable, and sustainable.
Through the Smart Selangor Action Plan, the State has already embarked on multiple digital solutions, from smart waste management and cashless parking, to high-speed broadband, flood detection, and water monitoring systems. Building on this momentum, we are establishing the Selangor Metropolitan Corporation (SMC) to coordinate planning, data integration, and smart initiatives across the entire state.
Our mission is clear, to harness technology in improving the daily lives of the people. With strong collaboration between government, industry, and the community, Selangor is ready to lead Malaysia’s urban future as a smart, inclusive, and sustainable metropolitan state.
